Healthy Diets for Healthy Children

Children with a healthy diet and children who engage in daily exercise have a better learning experience. It is important to instill in young children the importance and value in respecting and caring for their bodies. Kiddie World Early Learning Center provides an environment where healthy snacks and beverages are served and exercise is incorporated into daily activities.

Kiddie World Early Learning Center works with a Certified Nutritionist through the School Readiness Program to develop a menu that offers healthy snack and beverage choices enabling children to feel healthy and energetic throughout the day.

Below is a sampling of healthy snacks and beverages being served at snack time:

• whole milk - for children in the infant, explorer and toddler programs
• 2 % milk - for children in the preschool program
• fresh bananas
• fresh apples
• applesauce
• yogurt

• whole wheat crackers
• whole grain fruit cereal bars

Exercising Your Way to Good Health

Children 1 through 5 years old go outside twice daily, weather permitting. In the event of inclement weather, children will be able to experience movement and gross motor skills incorporated into their daily lessons and activities. Kiddie World Early Learning Center offers separate age appropriate outside play areas for each program. Play areas have climbing equipment that promote gross motor development, strength, mobility and coordination. Sandboxes, tricycles riding tracks, sports equipment, parachutes, balls and so much more are offered to enhance the child’s outside play experience.

We believe that children who have healthy eating and exercise habits will be ready to learn and will receive the most from their early childhood learning experience.
